Dear Student,
The U.S. jobs report came out this morning, and in case you missed it – the numbers came in MUCH stronger than expected:
- The U.S. added 256,000 (nonfarm) jobs in December – over 55% more than forecasted
- Unemployment dropped to 4.1%, indicating a strong labor market
- Wages grew by 0.3% – the highest growth seen since March 2023
Now logic tells us that the markets should be celebrating the good news…
But the Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq all dropped – each down nearly 1.5% as I’m writing.
And the VIX, also known as the “fear gauge,” jumped to its highest level in three weeks.
So, what the heck is going on?
Why is volatility UP following such strong numbers? And what does that mean for your trades?
In today’s video, I’ll explain all this and more, including…
- Why the market’s “strange” reaction isn’t strange at all…
- The 10 most expensive stocks to avoid right now… AND
- The 10 that will make your portfolio – and your bank account – happy.

Have a great weekend!
